MDS stands for ‘Mothers, Daughters, Sisters.
It represents the heart of the mentoring program, which is to create a family of role models, to form supportive relationships with black female students who do not have access to black professional women in their own network.
Created initially to meet the mentoring needs of one student funded by the AKF foundation in Ghana. Working with the foundation partner it was clear that there was a need for energetic, non-profit work in this area.
The founder identified numerous black professional females with the shared passion for the next generation of black female talent. MDS was founded.
Since then we have consistently grown, all thanks to the contribution and commitment of this amazing mentoring community and trusted foundation partnerships.
MDS will profile-match and connect, next-generation, black female students to highly experienced, successful and professional, black females from various industries. The mentors will share their experiences with the students and provide guidance and support as students transition through education, university and into employment
MDS also provides the mentors with a platform for networking, delivering inspirational events and creating a powerful alumnus of women with a common passion for the empowerment of the next generation.
To participate in the preparation of black female graduates to become the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs globally through mentoring.
To source black professional women who are successful in their industry as mentors to black female university student/graduate mentees globally. The aim of each mentor mentee relationship is to address development areas initially identified by the mentees.
